Peapod, grocery delivery

Does anyone use this or know about it? This is for STOP and SHOP, a grocery chain here in MA. You order online, and they deliver your order for 6$. When you open the page, it has all the things you usually buy, and you can just reorder. If you are busy and lazy like me, this is a big time saver. No parking lot dings either! Quite a few stores are self-checkout, so you either have to wait or scan and bag yourself. For about the cost of a pound of crappy cheese, they will bring it to you.
The screenshot is part of our order that will delivered tomorrow while Penny has off.

I've been tempted to use it, but it's convenient to my schedule to head into Giant/Safeway as part of my daily routine. I quite regularly pick up makings for dinner on the way home from where ever.
Didn't know it was that cheap. I might opt to order a whole bunch of power bars from there while the prices are cheap.Lovin that music year after year.

Was never really lazy enough to try it when I lived inthe city (plus Stop and Plop is expensive enough without tacking on delivery).
I am surprised it's only six bucks though. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
We've used it a few times and found it convenient. The only problem we had was the selection of fresh vegetables and meat was fair to poor.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

There's a little farmers market next to the ****, that I pick up meat and produce that's better, and cheaper than what S&S has. If you need to shop at more than one store to get everything without getting railed, this seems to be a good way to only have to make one smaller, quicker stop. User interface is easy, and I think we ordered over 20 of those Progresso soups that were on sale for a dollar. Those combined with the month supply of bottled water, should make for a tired delivery person.;)-Ignorance is strength -

I think Land-O-Lakes cheese is like 6.99 at the deli. I tell the other half it's a 'no-fly' zone.-Ignorance is strength - -
In the S.F. Bay Area during the Dot.Com era there was a compay providing the same service.I don't remember what they were charging, but it didn't go over well or catch on.Alot of people like to shop for their own produce and meats.Outlaw 990 Processor

I use Peapod a fair bit. I have mostly good things to say about them. I find they give me fairly good choices of fruits and vegetables. I don't usually buy meat or fish from S&S, so I don't have much experience with their selection of those items. My primary complaint is their availability on certain items. For example, in the ice cream brand I like they only offer chocolate or vanilla via Peapod.Speakers: Polk LSi15

"Cabbage, mushrooms, and onions" on your order.
I'd suggest some air freshener, also.
Figure you use a gallon of gas to shop, so for $6, it's worth it.Sal Palooza -
We've used it twice with the new baby and me working long hours. It's a great ltille service. We use it for everythinh but the meat and produce. It takes me 10 minutes to get that stuff on my way home from work once or twice a week. It beats going to the store for an hour and a half on a Sunday and getting crushed in the crowds.

Mark,
Our booming metropolis has two grocery stores, but I swear there is a three to four hour window on Sunday late morning that 92% of the Damascans decide it's time to shop. I have avoided Sundays all together, butit's the only day I can get out and go due to work! Peapod is worth every penny of the delivery to me. Plus, I have no idea where anything is in the store. My wife is efficient as hell; I end up walking two and a half miles going from one end of the store to the other looking for crap!Shawn

A wee bit of the corned beef and cabbage for the weekend. Deadly.-Ignorance is strength - -
So the only question I have is who's generating the pricing structure? My understanding is that Peapod is just a delivery service, but you ultimately were purchasing your groceries, for instance, from Albertsons.........The prices seem a bit high to me.....i mean, a banana for .25 when you can get a pound for .55ish makes me think their prices are a bit inflated.........comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

It's the same prices as the store, which is about a year old. We used to go there more frequently because they had everything, and it was immaculate. Some items are way overpriced like the 7.00 Land-0-lakes cheese, and deli, and meat, and produce. It's a metro store, and they stick it to you. With the Peapod, I can have all the reasonable and bulk items delivered, and it frees me up to run to the small market once or twice a week for meats, deli etc. Sales also show up online, and you can just click a bunch of them and they get delivered. I think I have 20 cans of soup coming (sale), and it's just the two of us. If you just used it for sales, you'd more than make up for the delivery charge. I'm kind of diggin' it.-Ignorance is strength -

I have used them ever since they came to Boston, which is well probably closing in on 10yrs now.
I use them for everything. Meat, veggies, the works. Yes, you can't always get a particular brand, but they are constantly adding new things to catalog.
I have never gotten a bad anything from them. If anything, they go out of their way to pick up the largest, & freshest of everything. If something that you ordered is having a sale that you didn't know about, you can be sure they will get it for you.
For me it is worth every penny of the delivery charge & the tip that I add to the total. To have someone else do all the shopping & to deliver it right into my kitchen is GREAT!!!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

Haha...No ****...as magically as the stuff appears, it's not proportionate to the amount of green that disappears

On topic....my old lady is extremely picky when it comes to buying fresh produce....it has to be perfect. When they deliver the produce in this manner, do they bring top pick stuff or the red headed stepchild produce ?The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club
-
SON, This is their business & they wouldn't keep it long if the brought their customers
"the red headed stepchild produce"!
Out of all the shopping companies that have come along, they are the only one's left standing. At least here in the Boston area.
They pick the food that looks the best & will taste the freshest. Anything less would give them a bad reputation & they would go out of business.
And as Tcrossma said, if something is wrong, just pick up the phone & you get a credit on your bill.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
