My weekend ritual beginning Thursday:
Scan classified ads for weekend yard/estate sales. Thurs evening scan shows nothing for Friday. Friday night scan, nothing for Saturday but lists an estate sale about 1/2 mile from my house that says Sunday 9-2. Well OK nothing Saturday so I wait until Sunday. Get there at 8:00 am to line up but people are already going in and out, damn. I walk in, very nice place and its obvious this is the second day. Was told the paper screwed up and didn't indicate Saturday. I shrug.

Walk by an entertainment unit with wires hanging out. Ask if there had been any audio equipment.
Guy says" Yeah, some old Marantz stuff".
I ask" silver or black face stuff?"
He says "Silver, one had an odd round tuner dial."
Sinking feeling coming on. I ask if he knew what models but he just shrugs. He's clueless and frankly, I don't want to know. I look around and then depart...

Its all part of the hunt, win some and lose some. Next week try again.

i rarely go to estate sales.. i know, i know.. they can be gold mines.. but my problem is i have manners... if the estate sale ad clearly states NO EARLY BIRDS. I make sure I only show up 10 minutes before.. well, i can't even begin to tell you how many times i've been told by the seller, OH YOU JUST MISSED THAT ITEM BY 10 or 15 minutes. FAWK!!

I hate to be an A-hole about it.. since if I had an estate sale, i'd be hella pissed if the ad states no one before a certain time and I had people showing up 90 minutes early. I'd kick em in the nuts man. I truly would.
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert
