So im on my way to blockbuster looking for a cool bluray movie to watch and what do i find when i get there? Nada, nothing, ziltch, zero. What the heck is that? They are freakin blockbuster and they dont have any High Def movies at all. Now if i put my business hat on, i understand the investment they would have to make to start carrying all these outrageously overpriced movies. I can also understand that they probably didnt want to pick between HD and bluray but come one, they have to have something there. The whole premise of blockbuster is to have every movie ever so i dont have to buy them if i want to watch them. I guess its just another advantage for neflix... I know i am going to buy more movies but most, i want to rent and this just sucks.

my 2cents...

Blockbuster corporate already chose Blu-Ray over HD for their stores, but it's up to the individual store whether they want to stock up. You may wanna check if there's any other stores nearby that DO carry BluRay movies.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Did you ask if they carried them?

The local Blockbusters have them in a separate section.

Of course i asked! I got a hardy "no" for the employee. He said, "soon, maybe..." And i dont want to drive all around town to look for someone who rents them. Maybe im being a baby, heck i probably am. i just dont get it. When your business model is to rent movies and you dont have them something is failing.
Can you imagine bb or cc not carrying the ps3 or xbox video games when they came out? Try going to the store for halo3, "Sorry. We dont carry that game."

The Blockbusters around here didn't have Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii games for a few months after the systems were released. They still don't stock HD titles here in my area either. Although when I go back to CA most of the stores carry them.

Netflix man, although they don't get that many discs so you still have to wait for new releases for a while.

This is just another reason why I stopped renting movies more than 5 years ago. I purchase everything.

I remember having to drive half way across town to get to the Hollywood Video that had a decent selection of DVD's instead of just VHS.

I'm still waiting to find a decent Blu-Ray player for less than $400 :( I'll complain about media selection after that :p
