Thoughts on Paradigm Monitor 11

I finally got to demo something that wasn't from CC or BB! We have this place called Sodaro's and they're a big Paradigm and Sony dealer. They had some Pardigm Monitor's out so I decided yes I'm gonna demo an actual quote-unquote hi-end speaker. They had them hooked up to Sony highest-end receiver out and to tell you the truth, they didn't exactly blow me away like I thought they would. The highs though was honestly pretty loud and clean, but the lows were just not tight as I thought they would've been. I listened to them on a movie (Spiderman 3 blu-ray) and to some rock (Foo Fighers). I can get them for $1000 brand new if I wanted them but I honestly don't want them. I'd like to know everybody else's thoughts on them. And maybe compare them to other speakers in that price range.

Paradigm makes some great speakers, although I wouldn't consider the Monitor series to be among them. If you want to hear a really good Paradigm get a listen on the Studio or Signature series. I auditioned a pair of Studio 40s and liked them quite a bit, but found a much more refined sound in the Totem Rainmakers that I eventually bought.
