Does anyone know what amps Polk uses for its speaker test? They must use a reference amp for all models they make. Where can this info be had at this website?

Interesting question. I would be curious if they actually use amplifiers as we know them. I would think that Polk places the speaker in an anechoic chamber to verify the results of computer models. I am sure there is some kind of amplification, but it may just be spraying pink noise.

Now... if that is true, an interesting question would be... what amps to Polk Execs use to show off their new wares to investors.

In the demo room they used some higher end Rotel stuff if Im not mistaken

Other parts, it was not uncommon to see an Onkyo receiver or three...

But they had plenty to choose from...
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

On a somewhat related note... what music do you use to show off the speakers? What does Polk use. I would imagine that they use test signals for new designs. But what about their demo rooms?

I'm not interested in knowing what music they use. I don't think Polk would use an Onkyo for speaker testing. I'm sure they run White or Pink noise through the speakers but surely they test them for what they sound with real recordings.
I'm sure they don't use RCA receivers to test Polk speakers.

I never gave much thought as to what flavor of power Polk might use to demo/test products. I would venture to say that testing power would come from a one off amp designed by a group from Polk's engineering dept. As for demo purposes, one or a few of the mainstream brands would likey be found.

I'm sure Polk has Reference Speakers, models from all current products that are supposed to be the standard that the production runs are measured against. I am wondering what polk uses to test the Reference Speakers. Tubes, SS, power, Etc?

Odd enough I use a Bose Lifestyle System...placed it behind the boat trailer wheel to keep it from rolling down the driveway. It works great!
