These fall into my "cute/clever" category, but nowhere near $500 worth of sonic value. He must be smokin' the inner carvings..............;)

I bet they sound horrible. I'm guessing he didn't use a computer speaker design program, plus they have Cerwin Vega X-overs. It's a novelty not worth more than $100 tops.

Aw, c'mon heiney, I'm sure he hollowed those things out to painstakingly exact "cabinet" volumes that bring out the best that the C-V/Polk/random tweeter combination has to offer! :D

Where the original polk speakers a ported or sealed design? Also, the speaker terminals may just be a CV set of terminals. If he gutted a Polk speaker, chances are there is a crossover in there somewhere too. They probably don't sound good, but they probably sound better than the CVs you guys had in college.

You can get the drivers all day long on e-bay in kit form. They aren't from a particular model. My guess is that may even be Eosone brand speakers which are essentially Polk manufactured drivers
