Nextel Question

I have unwanted people calling on my Nextel and with the research I have done, apparently the blocking of the number(s) is not a service offered with certain cell phone carriers as it is with land lines.

What I have found out is that you can make it to where the ring tone is silent, however the owner's manual is somewhere in this house probably buried up in the attic. I am looking for it as we speak and hopefully I will have it soon.

Having never used a custom ring tone before, I don't even know where to start but if I can't block the numbers it sure would be great not to be interrupted when conducting business. Well, anytime for that matter. I have always been on the side of thought that the phone is there for MY convenience and not others and generally 99% of folks that call understand this.

Now, when you have a fat, married woman [I'm married] calling constantly to "hook up" [former client of mine], a person that is looking for a job and one company that apparently doesn't make the "Do not call list" who calls every once in a while to sell crap I don't want, need or have any interest in whatsoever....it gets old quick.

So, end result I would like to add a silent ring tone to three #'s. Two of which are from the private sector and one which is commercial. Can this be done?

No can do. It's my business number that I have had for over 8 or 9 years. Clients I have forgotten about call me out of the blue with some pretty substantial work. This is the only number I have had and all my letterhead, business cards, proposals....basically everything in the office has this number.

I'm not sure you can set up to do silent rings on individual numbers, just all the numbers.

Too bad it wasn't blackberry, they have a black list software that you can black list numbers and it will auto send them to voicemail and the phone will NEVER ring from those numbers.
