I have never had a dedicated source. So with the help from a forum member (THANKS BEAR!!) I am the proud owner of a Jolida JD 100 My first ever dedicated CD player. It did exactly what I expected. It took every CD that I had (so far) from harsh to oh so smooth and more REAL sounding (to me anyway). I can't wait to get some listening time in. But now I have to go back to work.:(

I am listening to Alison Krauss and Union Station live and its is absolutely amazing.:D

I can't believe how much of a difference there is between the Jolida and the Oppo. I haven't listened to enough material to confirm this. But I think the Jolida sounds better than the Oppo when playing SACD's. It just sounds so right. I was getting some bad sibilance from time to time with the Oppo and I was trying to tame it with different tubes without any luck. Sibilance is gone! I still can't get over how easy it is on the ear compared the Oppo. I wish I would have bought a good Cd player a long time ago.:o

I think I will try and do a full review eventually. But right now I just want to sit back and enjoy.:)

Well, since you're enjoying it so much, I won't mention the fun times you'll have by rolling tubes through it.

Yep, get as much out of those tubes as you can. Upgrade everything too fast and it kinda leaves you nowhere to go. i've always prefered to upgrade in incriments.

Congrats,I have enjoyed our Jolida for quite a while...The best sounding pair of tubes I've tried so far is some cheap Sovteks...At least in my set-up.

    N'joy your new toy.

I can. I really couldn't believe the improvement to the sonic quality going from a Rega Apollo to this player since they were both about the same price. Absolutely blew my mind. Running currently with Sovtek 12AX7LPS tubes and liking the hell out of it.

    Enjoy.

Nice player, congrats on the purchase.

I read somewhere else the remotes are ridiculously heavy....I guess it's better than cheap plastic. Will it break a tile floor if you drop it? :D

    Nikolas,

Did you buy this Jolida New or used?, It looks really cool!

That's my next purchase, to replace my SACD player.

    Sal

I got it off the FM from Carl.

Don't delay like I did. Buy one! You'll be glad you did. After hearing the difference from my Oppo I have realized how it was the weak link in the chain so to speak. It honestly took my 2 channel rig to whole other level.
