I have a pioneer vsxd811s and an onkyom-282 amp. My question is can I bi-amp my Rti12's by using the receivers front speaker posts for the high's and using the onkyo m-282 for the lows?

I TOO would like to know how to bi-amp that particular pair since I'm looking at a pr.?
I'm thinking of getting an Outlaw 7075 for the HT speakers, then a pr. of M200's for the 12's, then using a 'Y' splitter off the rcvr. to feed both amps at the same time?
I saw a review online, and author said you should biamp using 100-125wpc for the HF, 200-250 for LF. I just don't KNOW how to do that another way, other than how I described itI refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
No Y splitter needed Obione, you simply remove brass jumpers from speaker terminals, run a single RCA cable(Interconnect) from the receiver to the power amp. Run a set of speaker cables from the AVR to the top set of speaker posts(highs). Then use speaker wire and run a pair of cables from your power amp to bottom set of speaker posts(bass). Simple as that............I had my 12s biamped at one point using my AVR and an outlaw and it did sound great. Since then I am now running them off a D-Sonic Magnum 1000S and they sound even better. Give it a shot, see how you like it.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Hmm, I always heard the m-282 was kind of anemic.
Good luck getting the preamp -> amp gains to match up at both low and high volumes. -
Thanks SherardP. I haven't bought the speakers yet, I'm probably gonna pull the trigger on a pr. of M2200 monoblocks to see if they help my Monitor 60's first. Tweeter's got a pr. of floor model 12's on sale for $736., that's why I'm looking at them!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
