What is your favourite 6922 or equivalent input tube and how it sounds in your system relative to other tubes?

Thanks,
Mike

It depends on the application. My ShengYa cdp likes the old Telefunken, My Dodd ELP liked the Amperex orange globes, and my McAlister PL pre likes the RCA 6BQ7 blacks instead of the 6922. Some of the old Valvo are nice sounding also. Just a nice quiet full range tube basically. It just depends on application and matching tubes to gear being run. Love rolling tubes!

I stole this from a previous thread I posted in -

Anthem Pre (I'm still playing with these but below is what I know so far)
Not in any particular order yet-
6922 Philips 1986 -Most detailed of the bunch(too much detail/bright/edgy?)
6DJ8 mixed dates all holland made Amperex-good but not better than others
6DJ8 HP Branded Amperex 1960s "soft", slighly less detailed warm/cozy
6DJ8 RCA branded Siemens great all around
6922 Sovtek(original stock tube)-same as mix above-good lacks solid bass

The HPs are the last set I haven't tried for a second time. If the HPs sound nice without being dull and losing too much detail they will be the choice but the super detail of the Philips can be great for the right recordings/music... and they are cheap!

I've since purchased the blue circle - so still experimenting. Want to try the mullards though.

For my Raysonic CD 168, the Jan Phillips 6922 are glorious.

I am pretty happy with my Amperex organge label 6dj8's. Good smooth lows and highs.

To each his own, but the orange labels are maybe my least favorite of the one's I've tried. I really like the Bugle Boy 6922s.

Try Bugle boy late 50's "D" getter. They dont get any better than these.
