Watched the first half of this movie last night. It was so boring that I started to fall asleep, so I got up and went to bed. It sucked. Poorly edited, didn't flow, blah, blah, blah...

A movie should read like a book -- it should capture your attention in the first 5 minutes. For instance, American Gangster's opening scene was killer (literally). It wasn't a great movie, but it damn sure kept my attention for nearly 3 hours.

I feel the complete opposite of how you feel about these two movies. I liked Michael Clayton alot more than American Gangster. The car explosions at the first of it didn't capture your attention, it sure had me scratching my head. American Gangster is the film I was really disappointed in

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

George Clooney makes another bad movie.."Good Night and Good Luck" [this was actually fair but still disappointed], "The Good German", "Ocean's Thirteen", "Ocean's Twelve", and for good measure "Michael Clayton". With a run this bad it's a wonder the guy is held in such high regard!

I watched it in BD and appreciated it...wasn't wowed, but it made sense, there was a payoff for the slower than usual plot and the performances were good. My wife slept through it, so the next day she watched it and I caught quite a bit of it again. What struck me on the second viewing, was that the characters, the motivations and the films momentum were true to life. GC actually acted, creating a disillusioned, lost dreams character, that acted much like I would act in the same circumstances. Very well thought out. In fact everybody in that film could be someone I know or have dealt with. It's more of an achievement than I first thought.

This flick was all right, nowhere near deserving of the praise it got. It was a mediocre to good movie with some decent acting, but not great. Nothing special.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

WTF is up with everyone LOVING George(unibrow) Clooney! This guy CAN'T act!
He has 1 facial expression. That's like a singer being monotone.

American Gangster was awesome. Michael Clayton was a major disappointment. The story line was not developed or cohesive at all.

see, I have no expectation, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a twisted plot developed. Perhaps, since I am in the similar industry where billable hours is where the rubber meets the asphalt, so to speak, I can relate to it. No, I am not a lawyer.

I enjoyed it. It was slower then I had hoped, but worthy of a rental for sure.

Ron is right on with his descriptions. Acting you can believe and get pulled into the film, but don't expect an action flick... drama thru and thru.

I liked it. Better than I was expecting. Seems like they left some stuff out, but had everything possible been in there then I would be bitching that it was too long.

A very well written and crafted film. Tight, suspenseful story, believable characters, great acting.
He's a freaking lawyer, for Crying out loud, so words are going to be a big part of the action.
It's not Rambo......so there is a basis in reality.
