OK, so I'm being lazy and posting here rather than scouring the net for articles.
I use DVD Shrink to rip and DVD Decrypter to burn.. and DVD Decrypter to rip when I have to defeat that first "error" in Shrink. That all involves ISO files.
What format do you have to rip DVDs to the hard drive in order to actually watch them from the save file? I thought it was ISO, I was obviously wrong. I tried to open an ISO file for my daughter to watch the movie, but all it did was open DVD Decrypter.

If you use VLC Media Player (the best media player in my opinion, and free to boot) it should play just fine from iso format. Enjoy!Lovin that music year after year.
