Audio related words...how the heck do you pronounce them?

So is it...

Yamaha (ya-maa-ha) or (ya-maha)

Timbre, as in timbre matching (tam-ber) or (tim-ber)

Sony Wega, line of TV's (vega) or (way-gah)

Denon (den-nen) or (den-ahn)

Mitsubishi (mit-soo-bee-she) or (mitsu-bish-e)

Bravia (bra-vee-ya) or (bra-vii-a)

I'm sure there are others but why the heck do these have to be so hard to pronounce?

Those are easy. I'm still trying to figure out how to pronounce Marlboro properly as a redneck.

    Marborrro?

    Marllbrough?

    Maarlburrough?

    Crap, I give up.

    This thread is serious.

My Physics professor once said the word "timbre" when talking about sound waves, and quite a few didn't know what he was talking about because he pronounced it "tam-ber."

A lot of them are companies or product names so you're not really going to get a definitive answer. Personally :

    Yamaha - / YA mә ha /
Timbre - this one surprised me - dictionary.com gives the primary pronunciation as /TAM ber/ so I guess your prof was right (though the alternate pronunciation is what you'd expect - TIM-ber)
Sony Wega - I've always said "WAY-guh". There's lots of discussion out there on this one.
    Denon - / DEN un /, though I hear / den awn / a lot.
Mitsubishi - / mit soo BEE shee /, though again a lot of people do say / mit soo BISH ee /
Bravia - only ever heard / BRA vee ya /
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

When I worked in the 31 SOS in Korea, we had a med tech from Boston, He looked at my shot record and told me "You need an EmEmAh shot" - I need what? "EmEmAh!" Oh, MMR!
