So, I picked up a pair of Carver Amazing Silver Edition Loudspeakers this past weekend....I've been getting them set up in the living room and so forth...

This afternoon I finally got a chance to really play with them and I had an experience that was just incredible.

My first REAL hifi experience was listening to the Magnificent Seven theme (Kunzel/Cinci Pops on Telarc's Round Up). Man, that was it for me. I got the Amazings set up and tossed in the disc and let 'er rip. I closed my eyes and I was transported back to that day in 2000 (or 2001..). HELL yes. I've owned the original Amazings but they sounded substantially different than George's Plats....the Silver's, IMO, are very close. So it was a thrilling experience.

The great philosopher Scroticus once said 'there is something about free air 12" drivers blowing your hair back that is just MANLY'

I couldn't agree more.
