Yes, the Pikesville Hilton is the closest "nice" hotel to Polk HQ that I can think of. I'm not sure about bars in close proximity, but I know there are any number of restaurants. If anyone is interested chowing down on the best brisket ever, Edmart Deli is about a mile down the road. BDT and I ate 2 each. :D

Please, for the love of all that is holy....follow F1Nuts' stomach. He has never led me wrong.

I know Lasareath wants to eat at Cracker Barrel, and who would defer a free meal on him, but try an eat at something local while you are in the area. The whole purpose of traveling is to dine and experience new things. Suck it up and do something cool and out of the norm....isn't that why you're here?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

They have soda machines in the lobby. Friday should be more about attention span than hangover....the rest is optional. I plan on being unfriendly thoughout.

I'm sure one stick would be enough to distract the typical Polkie, and then slap him in the face. I'm not typical but wouldn't be opposed to a slap in the face.

My side to side action is limited but the forward lunge is pretty good. I hope you have some secondary defense. I usually bring a rubber, **** shaped knife, FYI.

WOW - One of my favourites. I just hope the National Parole Board grants me permission to cross the border again.

Just watch out for his floppy head. It'll put an eye out if you're not careful. Those floppy headed Canuckleheads get a little rambunctious around the Loudmouth Soup.

I received a cool batch of brand new CD's to giveaway as Karma @ Polkfest 2008 from a somewhat new, and cool member. I'm not sure if he wants me to reveal him but I would encourage that....since no one else has even thought of it so far.

I believe it was originated from this karma and it's nice to see a member "pay" something back or forward....for an event that's essentially all about membership in the first place.

Push aside the vitriol and hatred and do something bigger than yourself. GET YOUR **** TO POLKFEST! This isn't about the individual(s)....it's about Polk Audio and the CP community.

If the community isn't something you like, well, you probably don't participate enough. This is hands down, one of the best forums I am a part of....and I'm on a bunch. It's a great mix of everything and aside from a Steam Vent or Political Forum, whch I personally would love to have.....not too freaking shabby.

If you are pensive about checking the event out....and it's an EVENT!....get a grip and come on down. This is an awesome opportunity to attend something that many folks never have. It's not a calender event, just membership driven. You don't have to come down for the whole weekend....at LEAST come down for Friday.

PLEASE! post publically, as to how many other manufacturers, have opened their respective doors to their user forums. Whether it be this level or smaller. Why would you not, want to just check out what a company does....in the field of which you spend money. This isn't a sales pitch with time shares involved....it's a walkthrough, wtf, that's not worth some time?

This is Polkfest man...peace, love and threesomes.....or whatever.

    Hi,

I've been working on the agenda and if things pan out, it will be memorable. I expect to lock it down and publish it here soon.

I have been reluctant to say this out loud but my house in west Baltimore will be the headquarters for the Saturday events.

Al - If you increase your homeowners insurance and think about a private security guard onsite....you should be fine. I'd bet its some crazy Canadian that causes all the problems. You can't let those folks loose on American soil.

The last Polkfest in 'aught five was very cool!

They had free food, a live band and all kinds of cool stuff. You got a walk through and got to see so much stuff that they require you to sign a non-disclosure agreement! Means you can't talk about some of the stuff you saw. If that isn't enticing enough, I dunno what is!

We got to see testing equipment and the testing rooms, the measurement equipment and the room it is used in, demo rooms, offices of the cool guys, even Justin's desk! If you are on the car audio side, we got to see the car audio workshop and the cars they were working on. We even got to see what kind of tools they use for doing the work. Right next to that is an area where they have drivers galore that they use for testing and rebuilding and such. It's like seeing the museum of Polk Audio. You don't really want to get separated from your tour group but if you lingered and asked questions, people were happy to talk and then help you find your tour group again. Oh and they have an SRT theater setup in the warehouse!

Oh and Matt, Al, Polk Paul and even Stu made it a point to go around and meet everyone. This isn't just a chance to have almost unfettered access to a corporate headquarters and R&D office, it's a chance to meet people who have made waves in the industry. they are all humble about it but ask anybody, even if they think Polk is cheap stuff, they all say that Polk Audio is innovative. We got to meet everyone including the Polk Customer Service giants like Ken Swauger and the venerable Kim from the car audio side.

These are very smart people and very kind people who are just floored by your rabid support for their company and what they do. That's why they support you so much. They want you to come and say hi and see what they do. They wouldn't open the doors if they didn't. Judging by the number of Polk employees that started posting here on the forums after the last event, they enjoyed it immensely too. So get off your dead butt and get out here for this event. You won't regret it.
