I saw it at the theater, and I am not sure if I like to own it. Also, it is at full MSRP of $29.99 at BB, a bit less at Amazon, I thought the format is dead? :)

"Hoochie Coochie" line was pretty funny.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I tried to add to Netflix today. . . nice "very long wait."

Guess they aren't carrying quite enough inventory given the demise of the format. But, still, that sucks that I'll have to wait or pay to rent/buy elsewhere.

I've had that happen a bunch on netflix, especially with HD-DVD.

While i like the movie.. the HD DVD picture quality is nearly the same as standard DVD's. WTH? I mean, it only looks slightly better in HD than standard DVD. that bites. esp since it is priced at $29.99

Just watched this today, had it sitting on the counter for awhile. Awesome movie, though I didnt like that he was a snitch in the end. Definitely replay title.

Are you sure you didnt have the SD side playing? Because the HD side blows away the SD side. No comparison

also its $17.00 at Walmart for this disc.

I finally got around to watching American Gangster tonight on sd dvd [I don't own a hd player] and I have to say it's a great flick! The only bad thing was the pq on sd dvd is not very good, it's either a bad transfer or it's one of those directors choices. I didn't see it in the theater so I don't know how it's supposed to look but it's dark and the colors are very subdued. I'm surprised some didn't like the movie..at almost three hours it went by pretty fast which for me is always a sign of a good movie.

    Highly recommended!
