Got my new projector set up!

My LCoS JVC was beginning to show its age after owning it for 3+ years so I decided it was time to make the jump from 720p to full 1080p. It is crazy how much the prices drop on technology as it matures. What I paid for HD years back is nearly twice as much as it cost me to make this current jump. I researched many days for the best bang for you buck projector out there and I am truly pleased with this Sanyo PLV-Z2000. Here are some pictures! :cool:

    There goes my next bonus...LOL. Your post I think just convinced me to get off the fence I was on and go get a frikin Hd projector... Nice movie room...really sweet set up.

    What throw distance are you at? My biggest concern is the image being bright enough at the distance that would currently be the best/easiest solution for me (back shelf), Based on the brightness you have with the ambient room lighting I would totaly pull the trigger depending on the distance you are at...

    It is around 18 feet at the moment. During the day even with all the blinds open it is still very watchable but there definitely is detail loss especially in dark areas of the image.

    It is a little on the high side at the moment but when I flipped it over on the flat side of the enclosure it seemed too low. I am going to flip it back over once I get something to elevate it.

    What's your screen size? I'm looking at this projector and the Epson 1080UB. Epson seems to be the way to go but there is $1000 price difference between the two. Only concern, besides the black levels, I have is the reviews say it's not the best option for screen sizes 100"+ and I have 116" screen. Are you below or above 100?

    I'm running my Z2000 on an Elite 100", and after some critical tweaking, I'm loving it. Using Brilliant Cinema and comparing grayscale to my calibrated RPTV (with the same patterns on both screens), I was able to line up grayscale pretty well and got an INSANE improvement in the picture. Hit the Z2000 tweaks thread over at AVS for how to best line this puppy up using Avia.

    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
    Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
    SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500

    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

    I have actually read that entire thread and stored all the recommended settings already. :cool:

    Still working on dialing in the picture settings to this point although I have heard it is best to really get down and dirty once the lamp has hit 100 hours.

    Yeah, the lamp dims a little around 100 hours, then levels out. I just hit 200 hours on mine 'cause I've been using the hell out of it since I got it... but you're going to be happy with it.
