I'm interested in the XM tuner that is listed in the link above. Didn't want to ruin the FS thread with my inquiry, so I'm posting it here.
How does this thing sound compared to the XM that you get off the DirecTV? I used to have an A/V system that I could listen to XM via the DirecTV satellite signal and to be honest, it sounded like a muffled ****. No sound stage, very little bass, highs completely gone and way high noise floor. Absolutely hated it.
On the other hand, there was one of these set up at Ted's at this past years PF that was setup in the garage. THAT sounded pretty damn good, however when I was listening out there I was not paying attention to the sound. I was paying attention to the beer, food and company.
As anal as I am with sound, would this be something that you would suggest for me or the general public?

~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Yes, it is a night and day difference compared to DirecTV or one of the "car-style" tuners with a home docking station. I have all three. While I don't have reference-quality gear, I can certainly appreciate the difference. For 125 and a signed tuner (like mine), go for it and never sell it.
