Back into the world of LPs I go. I bought a Music Hall MMF2.2 today. It should arrive in a day or two. I'm going to Rockford tomorrow to buy some new albums. Here we go.

Congrats....check the forum for vinyl too. George Grand, Russ, and myself usually have vinyl for sale at all times and usually have all genres covered.

Where are you going to buy a vinyl album in Rockford? There is a store out in Hoffman Estates called Record Breakers that has a room full of vinyl. There also used to be a store in downtown DeKalb that had vinyl. There's also a Music Direct retail outlet in Chicago, if you're inclined to go that far.

Record Breakers moved Downtown (S State St.) about a year ago. Now in addition to the record store they also have a Bar/Grill with live music, and also a Rock Club all in the same building. I Just went to the new location the other day. Must say that it is pretty cool. Plus everyone there is always very friendly and willing to help. I also like the fact that you can buy from them through Gemm.com

They really are worth the trip downtown.

BTW....Congrats on the TT. Music Hall does not disappoint.

I guess that shows how long it has been since I last visited Record Breakers!!!! It's probably been around March 2006 since I stopped in at their Hoffman Estates location! I put them in my Chicago GPS locations of interest!!!

Yea....It had been almost 2 years for me. On our trip last year to the auto show I was disappointed that I didn't have time to swing out to the burbs and see them. Come to find out I would have been even more disappointed had I tried. At that point they had left Hoffman Estates, but were still in the process of setting up the new location. I don't think they finally opened again until August of last year.

I found an antique store that has a nice selection of albums. Lots of jazz and blues, good condition and reasonable prices. I don't know the name or address but I'll get it tomorrow and let you know.

That sounds right. They have a new location just two blocks away. Same side of the street, but I can't tell you which direction. You get in from the back side of the building lower level.
