twin polk dswpro600 in a 3400sqft room

I went from 1 to 2 600s a week ago and has since moved them around ~8 times in the room  and finally found the best place to put them. They go deep! On a few scenes in the movie Incredibles, the subs set every air molecule in the room in motion! :D

Stick with what you got. If you're pressurizing the listening area, you have enough subwoofer.

    for 2 SVS, i can get 4 600s...

i moved the polk subs around the room for a whole week, putting them in all possible combinations - as a pair, in diagonal corner, stacked, side/side, and i can conclude that even if you have the best sub, and your placement is not good, you will not get the most out of them

3400 square feet is huge room. If you do the math then the room is almost 60 feet wide by 55 feet long. That is almost as big as a movie theater. You must have a huge house to have a room that big.

Those bookshelves are used as (presence) speakers, which is a DSP option on the Yamaha receivers.

Yup, Yamaha has been doing the 7.1 thing since the 90's I think, and it was/is a good system. My Yamaha Natural Sounds 7.1 had those and they were really a nice upgrade from the regular 5.1. They can also be mounted on the side walls I think with the surrounds behind you.

BTW: I was looking at that picture with the 3400sq/ft quote and measuring up the front wall as about 8' across like he said. I was excited at that point, because it meant his room was 8' wide and 425' long; AWESOME. And as always, reality is so much less fun.

My next step would be adding the velodyne SMS-1 to further enhance your LFE.

Just wondering...does the velo sms-1 solve problems associated with poor sub placement, ie standing waves and cancellation?

my room is square 20' x 20' and i got a "line" of standing wave 5' to the right of my listening position going from front/back of the room?

green = line of standing wave
    red = stacked 600

The only thing I would change with your setup is your center speaker. You should get an LSiC to match the fronts. Great system though.
    58" Samsung Plasma (on wall)(calibrated)
    LSi15's front (modded xo's)
    LSic center
    LSiFX's sides
    LSi7's rears
Sunfire Sig. 600 amp for 15's
    Sunfire Sig. Cinema for C,S&R
    Sony ES 3000 pre/pro
SVS 2039 PC Plus sub 12.3 (16hz tune)
    PS3
    Wii
    Signal and Audioquest ic's
    12 awg monster speaker-cable (bi-wired)
    Belkin PF60 power conditioner

Have you tried placing the subs in the left corner? Just to see how it sounds?
