Best Double Din??????

I am setting up a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer and would like to go with a double din since it has a great layout in the center for a Double Din, The radio is recesed a bit so something like the alpine that would stick out a bit in most cars will be flush in this suv.

I will be going sr5250 in the front and db 5 1/4 on the back doors for rear fill. I am leaning towards the alpine pdx 4.150 for front and back and a PDX1000.1for subs.

My question is what is the best Double Din for SQ!! How is the Kenwood 8019 for SQ. My brother just bought this unit and is real happy with it.

    To me... this looks very impressive and i wish they had this when i got my head unit.

    take a look at it, its got a ton of tunning capabilities, along with lots of bells and whistles, its pioneer so its prob, very easy to use and has a good set of preouts.

    The only issue I have with the IVA-W205 is the volts compared to the Kenwood. Will this not matter?? 2V Alpine and 5V Kenwood. I was actually wanting the Alpine untill I seen how low of Voltage it has.

    it wont matter too much really, just effects ur gains, u can always get a line driver.

    that pioneer doesnt float ur boat?

    I think it looks nice but seems pretty cheap ($350). If it really is up to par with SQ then it would be fine.

    If I go Alpine I would ad the h701 to it, if this would help with SQ.

    Do you think this one is better for SQ than the iva-w205 or the Kenwood 8019?

    Is regular Din units better for SQ over Double Din???

    they are usualy on par.... just double din sometimes gives u a little bit more control. i would go with that pioneer, find a shop that has one around u and play with it... i think its amazing

    i have always prefer Alpine over Pioneer, but between the Pioneer and the Kenwood, the pioneer i think its better

    also its really a Premier, not a pioneer

    Just FYI, Alpine now has a IVA-W505 coming out soon. I'm not sure of the differeces but worth checking out.

    the alpine 205 with a h701 would yield the best sq, hands down.

    I've used this exact same combo and it's awesome. Unbeatable in the double DIN stakes IMO.

    Thats good to hear because I think that is the way I am leaning since I would really like to fill in the Double din hole on the dash. Will the Head unit work all the features on the H701? I might get the controler to just for in seat tweeking. Will the H701 help with sound even if I am not running Video? Will it help shape the Bass?

    Yep, the head unit is compatible with the H701, so all features can be utilised. It's an incredibly powerful tuning tool. It will help shape everything. You won't regret going down this path I can assure you.
