Sound issues with Youtube?

Is anyone else having problems with Youtube videos not playing with any sound? A few play fine for me, but most have zero sound............
This has been going on for the past few days and I've messed with every volume setting to try and fix it, but I'm at a loss.........
edit: This generally happens if I click on a link and i open a new tab or window. If I'm clicking through videos while I'm on the site, I have sound.......and if I click on an external link and I have zero sound, and then copy that link to a tab (Firefox) where I've got a different Youtube video up, there is sound......
