CS400 or CSi3 center channel

Does anyone have any experience with the CS400 center speaker? I was set to buy a CSi3 to go with my Monitor 7Cs, and found a used CS400 for what seems like a good price (~$125). I looked up the CS400 and found that the drivers were larger (6.5"), so thought it might provide a fuller sound. I plan to eventually upgrade the 7Cs (pass on to my daughter) as something better becomes available. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kcarl

I have the CS400i. Both versions are fabulous center channel speakers. Brand new, they were sold for $400 and that was a pretty good bargain. This center is one of the best bang-for-the-buck deals on the market. FABULOUS CENTER SPEAKER!!!

I agree completely....I had the CS400i for about 5 years. It is a very strong, full, clear speaker and excellent for dialogue, etc. Doesn't sound the least bit boxy. I replaced it with the LSic so I could have a perfect match with my LSi 9's and also take advantage of the smaller size. The 33lb weight of the 400 was actually causing my shelf to warp. I gave it to my daughter, and now I get to enjoy it when I visit her.

    I picked up the CS400 for $120. It was in excellent condition. According to the manual, it has two 6.5" dynamic balance mid woofers (black) and a 1" dynamic balanced tri-laminate dome tweeter. 91 db @ (1M, 1W), 8 ohms, 40-26 kHz, weight 32 lbs., 8 5/8" H x 18 3/4"W x 12 1/8"D.

I don't think I can go wrong with this. Thanks for the input from everyone.
