Polk RTi6 front placement question

I have a pair of RTi6 for the front. I do not have any space between the wall and the screen. So, cannot place the speakers at ear level without blocking the screen. Can I keep these speakers on the floor, and tilt it up pointing towards the listener. Will that affect the performance, listening experience? I was thinking of wall mounting these above the screen, but they seem quite heavy for wallmounting. Will there be any difference in performance if I keep the speakers horizantally rather than vertically?

You won't get the best performance by having them on the floor even with them tilted up although that will be better than flat. Can you put them up on stands at all? Maybe out a little wider than your screen? They are wall mountable and they have brackets right on them I believe to do so. Definitely don't lay them horizontally. You will have phase problems. They are designed to be vertical.

Thanks for responding. If I use stands, then the speaker will have to be placed at least 1 ft away from the screen, I do not have any room on either side of the screen border to place the spaker. Its and 8' wide wall and my screen is 7' - 10", leaving only 1 inch on either side. Do the speakers rear panel need to be at screen level for best performance? If I use a stand and move them slightly away from the screen, at least it wont block the projection. I love these speakers, but want to get the best out of them. I also have a CS1 which is placed right below the screen, about 2' from the floor, placed tilted. CS1 sounds great.

Having some trouble picturing your setup. If you were to use stands are you bringing the speakers forward more in front of the screen towards your listening position? This would mess up your front soundstage. You want the center and fronts pretty even if possible.

Thanks for your response. I took a chance and mounted the speakers vertically, at screen level. The speakers are covering a tiny portion of the screen in both the bottom right and left corners. I hrdly notice this when the movie is playing. With this all front and cnter speakers are at wall surface level, and the speaker's tweeter at ear level when seated. What a difference, these speakers have never sounded this great, I love these speakers. Placement makes such a huge difference.
