the LS 70's were sold but seller offered a pair of LS 90's at the same price....The only experince I have with Polks were the SDA 1 from 1984...had them for 6 months..were ok but a neighbor has a few pairs made later on and they sounded fantastic..LS 90 opinions welcomed...will listen to them tomorrow..thanks

I bought a pair years ago with the intention of replacing my 11T’s….The 11T’s went into my secondary two channel system and the LS 70’s took their place in my primary system. Unfortunately within two weeks I had to bring the 11T’s back into the primary system as they simply outperformed the LS 70’s.
I think in large part the 11T just had vastly superior lower end; and being a more efficient speaker combined with the SL series tweeters it also sounded brighter and more musical overall. At the time I didn’t think the SL70 was necessarily bad I just didn’t think it was as good as the 11T’s.
I think they would make a good buy today if the price was right. I always did admire the look of them -
I had the 70's. Polk upgraded me to the 90's due to fabrication problems. Great speakers. Play plenty loud. Sound great on their own. You only miss the lowest of musical notes which are easily complemented with a nice subwoofer.
