Help me choose home gym speakers!

I'm looking for some advice on a pair of speakers to use in a home gym that will take some decent power. I thought I'd ask since the requirements aren't like most other threads -- I'm looking for something that has an exaggerated low end and also preferably some sharp highs. Because it's in a gym environment there won't be any critical listening, but needs to have that exaggerated low end I mentioned with an in-your-face style. Here's some examples of what I currently own that aren't fitting the bill:

Polk RTA11TL
Paradigm mini-monitors
Advent "New Advent" series large
B&W 600 series
Boston A60

So I'm looking for something as I described, and I'm of course expecting it to be less accurate than my examples above. The first thing that came to mind was a pair of Cerwin Vega's, but I've never heard any before, but from what I've read its hard to understand if they'll still sound as good as I'd like (again not critical listening). I seem to also notice the D-series are fairly well liked from the 80s if I were to watch out for some on CL. There's currently a pair of D3's on my local CL, although the price seems kind of high considering what I've seen them go for before ($200) but I believe the surrounds are good on them.

BTW, it'll be powered by an Outlaw 750 (165WPC@8oh, 220WPC@4oh). So a 4ohm load may be ideal but not necessary.

Any other ideas? I'm probably not looking to spend any more than a few hundred bills and preferably used from local CL. Any ideas?

I like Nike............................Oh I thought you said home gym sneakers.

For "in your face", I'd lose the Boston and Advents, they are too laid back. Any of the others are nice and the Polks will have the most bass of your choices. The TL tweeters can put out some good highs when powered nicely.
HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

    2 Channel Thorens TD 318 Grado ZF1, SACD/CD Marantz 8260, Soundstream/Krell DAC1, Audio Mirror PP1, Odyssey Stratos, ADS L-1290, ICs-DIY Twisted , Speaker-Raymond Cable

Thanks, but the speakers I listed are what I currently own and do not satisfy what I'm looking for, so I am looking to use something different. I just listed them to show what I'm used to listening versus what I'm looking to find.

BTW, I found the Advent's the closest so far due to their low end output (and while it is laid back, it has the replacement soft dome so it's not as laid back as the fried egg), but still definitely not what I was looking for.

I'd say some old Cerwin Vegas, or JBLs.

Thanks for the replies - since there's been a couple of CV recommendations, can anyone comment on the D-3? Haven't found a ton of opinion info other than the "audioreviews" sites that I don't like to depend on. Or should I wait for a D7/D9 to show up somewhere?

Where are you located? I have a pair of D-3 that are a little banged up on the cabinet and may or may not need to be re-foamed. If you're local, come and get them out of my house for a 12 pack!

    ah , perfect.

i also would recommend the Cerwin Vegas, they can handle lots of power (designed for home dj use ?? so can take a little bit more abuse than a hi-fi speaker I suspect)
had a quick listen to a pair once i was impressed, not so much a hi-fi sound but not too harsh, quite a sparkly high/mid as i can remember and the pair i listened to had dual 12" wooffers so bass was good too.

If you're near Tampa, I can hook you up with a pair of D-9's. I can't believe you'd want a speaker that's as bad as they are, but if you do, I might be able to help you.
