Well hell, I finally get to start a thread in the 2channel forum..woohooo...:p:D

I set my father up with my older monitor 4's and my HK330c reciever. Sound excellent. Trying to figure out a way to intergrate a sub. Right now, we have the L/R out from Tv to L/R in Aux on HK. Would I have to split this and "y" off from tv to sub and receiver? Can the tape out be used or is the voltage too low?

Tape out can be used, but it's not a variable output - so you'll have no volume control via the receiver. If the receiver doesn't have a set of preouts, your best bet is to hook it up via high (speaker) level connections - ie run your speaker wires to the subwoofer, then out to the monitor 4's.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Thats right, I can run the speaker out parallel... Geez sometimes my brain just quits working.. I dont have to use IC outs at all...:o:o

    hey hears with five ears,

thats not exactly what he mean't. Although you could run parallel lines you only need to go to the sub input speaker level then out speaker level to the 4's. Set the sub crossover, volume and phasing.

    peace out.

Sub too far. Speakers are closer to receiver than sub.

    But thanks...
