VW Beetle system

Anyone replaced the factory speaks in their newer VW beetle? My father is looking to upgrade his speaks and add a 4 channel amp...seemingly wants to add a small sub in the trunk.

One concern is the front kick panel...could he get away with components? The mid and tweet would be quite a ways away from one another...think the stock location for the tweeter is on the dash. Is this going to ruin the sound stage?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

I talked him into Polk/Momo MMC650's for the front and rear...Blaupunkt THA475 amp to run them. He is considering a Bazooka 10" active sub for the trunk. Should sound pretty decent at finish.
