Where to put the Sub.

I currently have the sub to in the corner (as seen in the photo in this thread http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62953). I realize that when I sit down at the listening position, I dont feel the good "thump" base I get when I stand up (I really dont want to stand up while watching a movie :))

I moved it to the left side and still the same results. When I stand up, I get really good base but when I sit down, its as if I am in some kind of "null" area.

Why is this happening and where else do you suggest I place the sub?
I have also played around with the 180/0 phase, not really much help

thanks in advance, any suggestions welcome

Try putting it beside your seat(couch) facing the wall with a space of 6" between the sub and the wall. Try both sides if one is near a corner.

I have the same problem due to limited placement options for my sub. The answer is still placement, placement, placement.

I will give it a try on both sides of the sofa. Will facing the sub towards the sofa give a better "thump?"

Have you tried the "set up the sub in the sweet spot on your couch, then play some bass heavy tunes, then on the far fall where the sub was , crawl back and forth, where ever it sounds best, that's where the sub goes.

Facing it towards the sofa is not recommended. You can always try it since it won't hurt, but I suggest you have the woofer/port face the wall.
