I think I had those same KLH's back in the day. The tweeter was black, but other than that, they looked identical.
How much was that M&K sub? Is it an 8 inch?
Cheers,
RussCheck your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
The M&K was 1400 dollars 15 years ago, its 125 wats, dual 12 inch drivers Push Pull Drivers, hits to 10 hz, those KLH's are actually not even 4 months old, so i dunno reallyDamn you all, damn you all to hell.......

woooooo since im so bored, ill give u guys a nice little reveiw of all my speakers........LOL!
Lets start out wit those POS KLH's....retail - 80 bucks!!!
for 80 dollars.....these are awesome....
spend 10 dollars more on something else.....THEIR BLOWN AWAY! Although I have had to be a DJ and I used them and they worked perfectly, they play very loud, but its like the crossover kicks in too early in the midrange and too late in the woofer, so it sounds artificial in the midrange with a extra trebely sound to the drums, its pretty airy, but its all in the wrong spot, so it just dont sound right, it does vioces pretty well, the high end is good till u get past 70 db...and that point it is pretty much ear bleeders.....these just arnt speakers u can stand to listen to for an exstended period of time...infact my stored away 80 dollar optimus speakers, which are 1/4 the size of those klh's sound better, but dont play as loud, and dont look near as intimidating as the KLH's so i dont use em...lol!
Polk Rt35i - played at -33.00 db - with Lenny Kravitz - retail: 300.00
These speakers have very good detail for 300 dollars, everything is in the right spot, its not one of those speakers where you can sit there and imagine where everything is in the room, but you can tell everything is there and sorda an idea where it is at - if you know what i mean
the midrange is sorda bassy, but overall very clear, it reproduces all vocals very well, male and female -- and males that sound like females..... ....thats just wrong....do yall no ne females that sound a male that sing? lol newayz........
the treble is really refined, and a big plus with me is, it dont get annoying at high volumes.......these are overall awesome speakers and i wouldnt trade them for nething, except maybe some lsi's, and some rt55is, and maybe the rti38---dunno...
Rt25i - played at -32.5 - with Tommy Lee - 200
This is the first time I have actually listened to them alone....and to tell u the truth..WOW! superb imaging for 200 bucks, the woofer altho kinda boomy is overall clear and cuts off too soon for how i got my sub set up (55 hz crossover) --- but for surrounds that i use em for, they do it perfect, they would be really good bookshelfs too, the treble never gets annoying from what i can see
back to the woofer ---- Playing Avril Livegne -
This speaker relays her vioce perfectly, sounds like she's a girl and can actually sing, other than artificial like the KLH
the tweeter here ---- is hacing elalotta hard time, and is occasionally really ear dis-pleasing ..... if that makes ne sense. But overall they are reproducing this very good, and for 200 bucks or less, they cant be beat in my opinion.
----I reall dont want to do my center channel, but i will...i dont like the sound very much...newayz....here it is....----retail - 200
Polk CS245i - This center -- brings out alot of sound in 5.1 music, because it adds alot to the treble, but in music by itself, it SUCKS! it sounds like females vioces are compressed as they are reproduces from the woofers, the treble is perfect, never get real sketchy or nething, but the woofers themselves, suck with music, but sound good with 5.1 music---but in movie, wooooooooo this thing kicks arse! it keeps up all da way, never distorting or nething, keeps up all da way, but other than the fact it plays music terribly by itself...its a awesome speaker.....
M&K - MX-90
this a very awesome sub, hasnt needed repairs in 15 years, never had new grills, or been repainted, never had the amps or drivers replaced. The only problem i dont like is the fact my dad said the nameplate that was on the grill vibrated off....serious...ill show ya the grill...lol! Newayz this thing hits well below 20 hz, it has a very unique design - push pull - the bottum driver which is fireing into the bottum of the cabnet, the driver -- u can watch restract, it does the offbeat bass, its like the push part of the subwoofer so to speak. the forward firing driver does all the 'normal bass' so to speak, its like the pull part of the sub, this is how i see it, its very accurate, never distorts or clips, and blends very well with the polks, and dosnt over power them at all
The Yamaha receiver is the htr-5460, awesome receiver, powers the speakers without clipping..unless u turn it up too far, but overall this receiver is an excellant value for 300 clams, 500 wats x 5, .06 thd, but im probally gonna sale this one in the middle of this year and gonna use my summer job money towards a denon 3802 or 3803...either one.....but i would recomend yamaha to neone, they make fine products, built really well and sound real good, and its a very unique sound at that.
yamaha cdc 585 --- awesome cd player, plays noiselessly, very low thd (.008) ---- plays 5 cds, dont skip mostly unless theres something wrong with the cd, like a million scratches, other than that it makes it self learn to play the cd surface -- like it learns to cope wit scratches and stuff -- but this is a great cd player for around 200 bucks.....
welp dis is my short reveiw....lol....welp im out...ttu guys lata...byeDamn you all, damn you all to hell.......

-- The addiction is rooting itself in you, carefull bud, one day you may end up like Dan. heh --
im already addicted...lol i have 10 speakers in my room -- i have a stowed away optimus speakers, i plan to add another subwoofer and another pair of rt25i's or i28's to my system if i get the denon receiver..lol my dad says i need counceling...if he will let me---ill take some pics of his system....u wanna talk about addiction....
-- Any complaints from the neighbors? --
nope, not really, the sound can only be heard on the other side of my room -- well plainly newayz, and there are no neighbors for like 80 feet or so infront of my room, but u can hear the subwoofer around 70 feet, and the speakers around 60 feet...but there are no neighbors atleast 70 feet on all sides of my house, and on one side its a feild and woods..lol....but nope no complains from neighbors...complaints from mom and sister tho....LOL!!!Damn you all, damn you all to hell.......

MxStYlEpOlKmAn,
Just curious.. 10 speakers in your room.. why? On the one hand, I sort of understand because I think I could have fun listening to and playing with ANY new speaker for a little while.. and I wish I'd never sold any of my old gear so that I could pull it out once in awhile... but I don't understand having 10 speakers in a room. Especially given that you review a few of them as less than stellar. Just curious. -
actually the klh's were bought wit beach money at a trip, and i dont use them unless i have to be a dj, the optimus's were given to me for free by my dad, so the m&k's and the polks were bought by me, im probally going to let my sister use the optimus's on her system, but i doubt it because she mostly uses her computer speakers, see the optimus speakers are like.....9 inches tall, and 3 inchs wide...the go right in my ht center.....newayz....thats why i have alteast i think its 10...
1-35 x2
2-25 x2
3-245
4-mx90
5-900b x2
6-optimus x2
-- Especially given that you review a few of them as less than stellar. Just curious. --
well heres the thing, im looking at them like i dont even own them, i take great respect in my system since i busted my butt for 600 plus hours in 100 degrees weather to get it, and heres the thing, i will never sale my current polks or my m&k...just aint gonna happen, it will alwayz be apart of my life...unless they just die...but i mean...the klh's...i dont care how they sound, they are mostly there for looks...u should see my room without them, and my room with them...lol...night and day...but i wouldnt think twice about saleing them if the momment and the price was right...but i mostly use the Klh's and the optimus's for djing...because i dont wanna carry around my polks, and when i get my ar subwoofer - dual 12s, one active, one passive, it will be my extra subwoofer for djing...
other fact is....ive alwayz had a hobby, whether or not it was a good one, i alwayz liked alot of it....and im fascinated by speakers, how they work, look, sound...newayz
im alot like my dad in this situation, he has had alot of speakers, and he says heck if i didnt blow em all i would still have them...but he has some old advents that are blown in his garage, that i really wanna hear with new drivers and tweeters...newayz...i hope that clears it all up on y i have 10 or 11 speakers in my room.....but the optimus's....are so small they can be hidden in my shelf....so i dont really count them....
PS: and what i think ur getting at about the reveiws, are the KLH and the Cs245i.......the klh's are good speaks for 80 bucks, dont get me wrong, but when u compare them to the polks...they just suck....the cs245i...is an awesome speaker wit 5.1 stereo and home theatre, but its about two cents shy of being a good muscial speaker alone...lol...but thats my observation, and if i had money flowing out of my butt id get the csi40...but the bigger the speaker, the more wats...and i just cant afford huge arse amps...just aint gonna happen...newayz....i hope that clears alot of that up also...Damn you all, damn you all to hell.......
