SR6500 Amp Questions
I am planning an SQ system and just placed an order for a pair of SR6500's matched up with an Alpine 4.100 AMP.
I was just wondering if running the Alpine PDX 4.100 bi-amped to the SR6500's would be sufficient or if I should go with the 4.150 instead.
The 4.100 sends 100W RMS while the 4.150 send 150W RMS.
Would it be better to power the SR6500's bi-amped with 100W or 150W?
I just want to be sure I don't overpower or underpower the components.
Thanks.

posting in the car forum will yield better results.
for your answer, though, as long as you set your gain correctly, there won't be too much of a difference audio-wise. I always go for more headroom, just to have it, but it really depends on your budget. i would sure bi-amp them, though...you would be losing SQ if you didn't. some say it doesn't matter, but i've found that, in most cases if you have a good ear bi-amping improves the soundstage a little bit more than not bi-amping.
in conclusion, i bi-amp my focal set with around 96w, and they sound fabulous, and get super loud. 100w is plenty, and you won't have to worry about blowing them, or underpowering. At Home:
