While he was best known for "Jaws", he was great in "Blue Thunder", "52 Pickup", "The 7-Ups", and many others.

Sad to hear this. I always liked him and loved Blue Thunder. Last I saw him was as The Punishers father in 2004. RIP

What a shame, The first thing I thought of was Seaquest. What a dumb show that I watched regularly, but he was good in it.

Roy Scheider was the reason Jaws was such a good flick for it's time.. I still enjoy watching it too.
