Need advice on subwoofer crossover

We recently moved into a new house and my listening area is larger than in our old house. I'm considering a Hsu VTF-2 MK3 sub to supplement the bass on my SDA 2B-TL's. I'm powering the SDA's with a NAD C370 and considering a high pass filter in the preamp out/main in loop. The C370 has two pairs of preamp outs so I can connect the sub to the unused pair. I primarily listen to music.

I need advice on several issues:

1) The low pass filter in the sub is 24 db/octave and Hsu's separate high pass filter is 12 db/octave. Are there any issues mixing these two or should I look for a 24 db/octave high pass?

2) Any listening experience with Hsu's high pass filter? Is it transparent, etc. or are there better options to high pass the SDA's?

3) What crossover frequency should I start with? Hsu's high pass comes with two frequencies and Dr. Hsu recommended I try 60 hz and 80 hz. Does this sound reasonable for SDA 2B's?

4) I will need approximately 25 feet of cable to connect the sub. Are stereo line level connectors the preferred way to connect or should I consider using the high level inputs.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Anybody tried the Hsu High Pass filter? Any other recommendations for a good high pass filter?

I'll help you with a bump. I'm interested in comments on some of your questions too. I'm considering the same sub, and I'll have about 35-40 feet to run to it and I'm not sure if that's too far to run a sub cable for LFE or use 14 or even 12 gauge for the run and split it with Y's at each end.
