I had a similar problem, I stopped to stop using the auto on feature."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Are they run off a Y, or have their own outputs?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

the Y connection is made at the amp output - 1 pair of speaker wire going to the front speakers, 1 to the sub

Have you tried using the LFE output from the processor?
I'm wondering why you would use speaker wire hookup, without thed front speakers attached to the sub? How is the crossover applied to the mains with this setup? -
I agree, go with the LFE connection."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
