I have a low volume hum on my Marantz 2270. Any ideas?

if you are analogue have you eliminated that its not the interconnect, this is unlikely but poor quality interconnects can hum this is especially notable at higher volumes.
try your grounding on your mains cable (if it has one) swap leads maybe? that would be easiest.
does it doo it through the headphone socket (if it has one)?ELECTRONICS

hey! nice receiver!;) are you getting the hum on all sources? might be an old and ornery cap(s). output transistor. maybe a solder joint has gone bad. or, could be a bad interconnect. good luck:)
sometimes a good dose of DeOxit will cure all sorts of ills -
clever me, i somehow got the idea into my head that this was a cd player, teaches you to get your facts right before opening your mouth .ELECTRONICS

still ,see if it does it thrugh the headphone socket, this part is separate from the amp board. (i think)

I'm thinking it might be something on the power board? I've thought about getting some new caps too?

try tightening the tranformer mounts
