Question on hook/bi-wiring!

So i may try a stereo receiver that only has 2 outputs, and no sub or LFE out, can i still bi-wire if I'm running the cables through the sub and using it's crossover? Will it sound any different or not really?

Welcome to the forum. What kind of speakers? I'd recommend front's via the sub and just set the sub xover at whatever sounds best for the majority of music.
From all the feedback I've seen re: biwiring, there's no benefit.
But, you have to check for yourself to satisfy YOUR taste.

thanks, yea i bought monitor 30s, and a psw12, and WAS using a onkyo sr304, but either it's broken or has no real power to it, because when i turned it up to a decent level it would sound distorted (only on really random things, and it almost made the tweeter sound like it was popping) on some medium/louder parts, so i took my dads older Yamaha RX395 and it sounds MUCH better, louder/clearer and no sign of distortion.

But.......no sub out, so i was wondering if bi-wiring could be done, just from the outputs of the sub, or if it wouldn't really even be bi-wiring by that point?

Hello,
In my opinion, the goal of bi-wiring is to anchor the two "halves" of your speaker to the lowest impedance point. This would be the output transistors of your receiver. So, to realize any benefits, of bi-wiring, you would need to make your two speaker wire connections to the receiver itself, as opposed to the connection terminals of the sub.
