glad to hear you are enjoying and feel good about your new purchase. I too went from a Bose to Polk, I actually went to rti4s and a csi3. That was a killer difference. When I upgraded to the 8s and put the 4s in rear, wow!

You are going to have the same speakers as I do. I absolutely love mine as well. I'm still waiting for the 8's to finish breaking in. I am curious to see how much the sound opens up once they do.

    enjoy

Funny it seems like everyone took advantage of the deals going on with the RTi8's, CSi3, FXi A4's! I too have the same speakers as you, I got my Rti8's and FXi A4 this past Thursday and I'm loving them. I have my CSi3 coming tomorrow and I can't wait to complete my system. I upgraded from a 10 year old Sony HTIB and the difference is awesome!

The FX A4's are awesome, I love the triangular design and the size of these things. Haven't watched too many movies but I loaded up some of the cool scenes from Transformers (HD-DVD) and they sounded sweet!

The manual has the explanation on the differences between the two, along with diagrams on the placement of speakers and the corresponding setting. Mine are on the side walls in my room about a ft being me and a ft above ear level. I set it on dipole so far and like what i hear, I haven't tried bipole just yet but its easy to just flick the switch.

Still waiting on my CSi3 to get here!!

If HT is your primary concern, I think the fx's would be better. This would be my preference anyways. I love the non-directional effects and ambiance.

Oh and if you are wondering. I have been using my system daily and do not regret a single choice I have made. I am happy I stuck with the CSi3 and didn't go to the 5 for double the price, I am loving the 8's and am truly amazed at the performance of the fx's for both HT and 7 channel stereo music. I pat myself on the back every time I turn on the power.
