pro audio amp good for RTi12's?
I've got an older tube pre-amp and a QSC RMX1450 amp that puts out about 260W a side @ 8 ohms. We use it (bridged) for when we need to power our sub for our band but in the meanwhile I wanted to hook it up to the RT's. Any downside from doing this vs. using a 'home' amp? My Yamaha powered receiver is pretty lame and wouldn't do these justice. Thanks...

Welcome to the club pktaske.
This question comes up a lot and the general consensus is it will work fine but the sound quality will not be as good as a home amp. I myself have never heard a pro amp on my speakers so if you have it and want to try it go for it and let us know what you think.
You might also try using it to drive only the woofers and use your AVR to drive the tweeters. The woofers suck up the most power anyway. Note you must remove the jumpers between the speaker binding posts before doing this! Have fun and let us know how it turns out.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH
