Can a Harmon Kardon 520
properly drive a pair of Lsi9's and an LsiC?
Its a great deal for the price, $534 shipped from onecall. It has the flexibility for inputs and new 525 doesnt offer much that interests me.
so what do you guys think?

Can it drive them? Sure.
IMO, can it drive them properly? No.
Look at outputs too ****, can you add external amps later?

Yes it has the capability to add external amps.
from my point of view this will be leaps and bounds from what i have now, a Kenwood 507.
my uses will be 70% HT and 30% music.
would a pair of Rti70's and csi40 be a better choice?
I'm a newbie -
What Russ is getting at is that the LSi is better suited for separates. A receiver will drive them but not to thier potential.
The reason he asks about the ability to add separate amps is as time goes by, you would be well served to add power amps to drive the LSi.
No, definately get the LSi, just realize that better amplification will allow you to get the best from them.

The LSi are a difficult load for most receivers.
I think the Rti/csi combo would be a better choice. Atleast worth an audition.Make it Funky! -
thanks, I'll give them another listen.
The Indoor Store here in Arlington Texas sells the LSi, at a very high price i might add, they also sell all of the Harmon Kardon recievers. i'll ask the sales rep for an audition of lsi9's on the 520 when there not too busy.
Its a cool store, I believe that Sears owns it, but they carry top of the line stuff. If any of the DFW folks are wondering where to audition Lsi line. -
Don't get an HK. Get a Denon. The HK's will not sound good with your LSi's.
