Power Port Within Cabinet
I have a pair of Rti A5's that are located in my wall unit. They fit very tight-1/2 inch on all sides. I don't have any other choices for speaker placement.
Question: since this is the only space buffer, is it a problem for the power ports in the rear of the speakers to be used at their optimum when they are trapped within the wall unit cabinet? How much bass do they actually put out and wouldn't the sub carry most of it anyway (depending on the crossover). Am I losing significant bass output and trapping sound within the cabinet? The speakers sound great, but they are a bit bright and I have tweaked their setting withing my Onkyo 805. I like my sound, but I would like to make sure I am using them to their fullest capabilities.
I can cut holes (large) in the sides of the wall unit and put a screen over the holes, but I would prefer not to do it, especially if the impact is minimal. Insights????
