I got the one that came with the sr-800 HTIB the one u can buy right now for $500.....and I have everything adjusted all funky...is there a way to reset it to all defaults like it was when I bought it new?

Do you need to "SET-UP" a receiver or are they pretty much good to go out of the box...i heard a few years ago there is some tweaking o get the best sound??

thanks

yes you have to tweak, use the manual for guidance on returning settings to default, it should be in there some where. As for tweaking, etc. you can use the test tones that the receiver offers to setup speaker distance, speaker size, etc. Most here will set the speakers to small, crossover set 60hz or 80hz depending on your liking. If you'd like to tweak even further, I'd suggest a radioshack SPL meter to dial everything in precisely.

This onkyo reciever actually comes with the (forgot what its called) thing that plugs into the phono port and u set it in the middle of room and it send outs test tones from each speaker and it adjust the setting in the rceiver.....is that pretty much all I need to do or is there more tweaking that can be done?
