vintage Monitor 5b or 5jr as center?
Hi folks,
I'm new to the forums and I'd appreciate any feedback I can get. I'm looking for a center speaker to match my vintage Monitor 12b's (the ones with the electronics and tweeter sitting on top of the cabinet). I've got a pair of Monitor 4a's, series 2 as surrounds and since those are all circa 1980's, early 90's, I wonder about the option of finding a single 5b or 5jr to use a center. Polk's web site suggests a csi5, but I think that's because of size & volume to keep up with the 12b's, but I wonder about the timbre matching...
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Kevin

I like the 5A or 5B's. Fuller sound. Center has most of the dialog going through it. I agree the the 5's are a better match with the 12's.
