New Polk Member, rear speaker suggestions.
I've just purchased some RTi8's and a CSi3 (Can't find CSi5 anywhere) yesterday and I'm kinda' stumped on what rear speakers I should get.
I was thinking about getting the FXi A4 but I see some people using RTi4 or 6's with the RTi8's and CSi3. My room is not large, about 14' x 10', the rear speakers will be placed on the side walls about 1'-2' behind my couch.
Would I benefit getting the FXi A4 with the bipole-dipole feature or get the front firing RTi4's or RTi6's?

I have the FXi3's and love 'em. Personally I have mine set to bipole for both my rear and side surrounds.
I think the advantage of some more "surround" speakers as opposed to the front firing bookshelf is that the surrounds seem to provide a more encompassing sound. The Home Theater Setup:

Center: Polk CSi5
Surrounds: Polk FXi3

im going through this myself.... but my room is a bit smaller and the speakers will have to be either behind my chairs (1 ft), infront of my by a few feet or in the top corners of the room. (which ive heard its better to keep them lower in the room vs putting them in the corners). i currently have a 7.1 setup and am going to a 5.1 setup in order to upgrade to the rti8's. so would the fxi3 be the best for me?
im using a converted bedroom for my theater and have a 92 inch projector in there so thats why im sitting so far back. my local tweeter has both the rti6 cherry and fxi3 for $98 so its a matter of choosing.
I have the rti8's and csi3 currently (got in on the frys deal) -
I went ahead and purchased the FXi A4, I couldn't find the FXi3 anywhere and my local Frys doesn't carry them. I got them for about 250 from amazon, pretty decent deal.
So by Friday I will have my RTi8, CSi3, and FXi A4's! This is upgrading from a HTIB Sony Speaker set. I've been looking at the Onkyo 705 or 805 and maybe down the line purchasing an amp to power those RTi8's.
Just a question about speaker wire, should I go with the usual 16g or go with 14g? I've seen the spools of Monster wire you can buy at Circuit City and Bestbuy, any good? Suggestions are welcome, i'm willing to pay about 50-100 bucks for wire.My Home Theater:

The FXi4 is perfect, no worries. I would save a couple bucks and get the speaker wire from www.partsexpress.com
Don't spend the extra money on Monster Cable, it's not worth it. If you want something quicker than mail order, stop by the local Home Depot/Lowes.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? I was also looking at monoprice for speaker cable. Would it be overkill to get 12g over 14g when my room is only 14x10? It wouldn't hurt though right? My Home Theater:

Ok sweet, think I'm gonna pick up a 100' spool (12g) from monoprice, its about 25 bucks. The reviews/feedback has been pretty positive for these wires. My Home Theater:

SBTx, I have the RTi 8's frontsa CSi 1, FXi A4 surrounds and R15 surround backs with a Polk DSW 500 sub. I just purchased an Onkyo 705 to power it all. The 705 is very nice, great pricepoint, but have to crank it a bit to hit the sweet spot for the RTi 8's (IMHO)
I would have gone for the 805 if I had the room in my cabinet, but the 805 is considerably bigger (depth wise) and runs much hotter. 705 still has plenty of gas to make the system sound great for movies and music.Receiver- Onkyo TX-SR875
