Anyone with a box program willing to help me out a bit? I have an SR12 and am looking to run 1kw+ to it. Xtant x1001. I don't have a program on my current computer (since my old comp crashed) or my g/f's iBook to let me play around with box sizes. I'm gearing the sub for pure SQ but with that kind of power, I know it's gonna get LOUD too. I kept tossing around the idea of running other setups but I've run full circle and will be going this route. Now I'm trying to decide between a false floor or a side mount enclosure. If I go side mount, I have up to about 1.5ft^3 or could have up to 3ft for the floor idea. Now that I think of it, I could do 2 10's in the floor... damn options!

Anyhow, what's the proper box size for a single 12 off 1000w sealed for SQ?

Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

hell yeah! How in depth is it? Is it one of them where you can put in how much power and it factors that into the equation?

i have tried my sr12's with 1 cube and 1.2 cubes and the sound quality is right on with 1.2 cubes. the 1.2 went deep and blended perfectly with the front stage. 1 cube sounded good also, just more punchy. when looking at my rta there was a nice size boost @ 50 hz. cutting 50 hz. down 4 db made a really nice sounding low end.

I modeled mine up in BB Pro, and when comparing and SR124 DVC on 600ish watts RMS to 1000 watts RMS, it seems the increase in power should be good for almost (but not quite) 3db with a similar response curve throughout the frequency range.

read the SR124 DVC white paper very well, and remember that its from 1.2 to 1.5 plus the driver.

i would go for a 1.3 or 1.4 plus the driver.

here is the bass box pro, if you or anyone here needs it.
