Okay, I'm going to offer this up. Why? Because I want a Scoutmaster. That's why.
This table started out life as a MkIII. As far as the upgrades go, this is about as tricked out as you can get.
Featuring:
Stand Alone Motor Assembly (SAMA) - This was a 400 dollar upgrade done about a year ago
TNT platter/bearing - also done about a year ago, this was a 700 dollar upgrade and is WELL worth the money.
Rega RB300 arm with upgraded wiring (I can't remember if it was Cardas but that's what I'm pretty sure it is) and 'The Heavy Weight' aftermarket counterweight.
Dynavector 10x5 (high output) cart. This is high enough output to work with a MM phono stage. The plastic body was removed to eliminate the resonance associated with it. Great cartridge with lots of life left in it.
The suspension is supported by the sorbothane pucks rather than the springs which gives improved bass response and weight. Also, the stock feet were replaced with higher quality tip toe feet. The plinth is an older MKIII plinth (re: matte finish rather than the gloss acrylic) and to accomodate the height of the TNT platter two standard armboards are used (I had a spare armboard and used that rather than having a new armboard made). I also have the tall dustcover.
Basically, other than upgrading the cartridge and the speed controller (which I tried and found it added nothing), this table is about as tricked out as you are going to get it. In the past year, I've spent 1,100 on just the platter and SAMA.
The only thing that I won't include is the clamp. What I will do though, is when I get the Scoutmaster, I'll give the buyer the one that comes with that.
Ok, price. I'm asking 1600. EDIT FOR PRICE DROP.
True, you can find them cheaper. Unlikely that you will get the SAMA and the TNT platter/bearing and the arm/suspension upgrades already done. I'm also not desparate to sell it either. If it doesn't sell, no biggie.
At this point, I don't want to ship it. I will deliver a reasonable distance. I DO have the boxes and manuals. If it comes down to shipping, buyer will incur the expense of the extra packing materials.
If you are interested, post/PM me. Jesus Head is not included.

Beautiful TT Troy. I have heard Joe's and they sound very nice. I am in the market but unfortunately not on that side of 1K. Someone could have a nice TT.

This turntable is a steal at $1600 and it has the latest and greatest upgrades as well as a great tonearm and one of the best table designs ever.
This is the last turntable you will buy for a long time to come. -
That's MY Jesus head that you gave me, and I left at Troy's in the haste of trying to get out of SC after Polkfest was done. Troy, I expect a tracking number on that head, unless you plan to take it overseas with you.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Okay, gang. I've been pondering this and running the numbers as to what I need to get out of this table for fundage.
1300 is my rock bottom - Polkie only price. This is less than I paid for the table as a MkIII. Essentially, you are paying for a minty MKIII and cartridge and I'm eating the arm upgrades, SAMA and TNT platter.

Troy,
I'll take it if it's available. I live in Pittsburgh. Where are you? I have a Boltz rack and I just need a measurement of your TT's footprint. Does the SAMA sit off to the side? Let me know. Thanks. -

Whoah! That's a borderline Steal! Heck of deal. If someone doesn't jump on this, they are crazy!!!For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
ffs, why couldn't financial things go as planned and I have that $1300 available immediately. This looks like the perfect table for me.

Larry,
I returned your PM before I read this....the SAMA sits under the table so, no, it doesn't sit off to the side.

Where's the half naked girl drapped across the top of the turntable? -
Larry you won't regret this purchase. Now we can call each other up and while having tickle fights tell stories of our turntables.
Hope this is a done deal . . . congrats, Larry & Troy!!! It couldn't go to better guy.
