Little critter living with me comes to an end...animal activists don't click

So I've had this little mouse living with me for a while now, can never seem to catch him. He runs by my feet, all around the walls, making his little obnoxious squeeky noises. He picks through our trash and rips open bags and all that good stuff. At about 2:45pm today, this little critters life came to end, apparently he liked the Apricots better than peanut butter. Death was quick.....enough.
Here are the pictures....RIP little mouse.

I am totally grossed out by mice....no bad feelings here. However, they do say that for every mouse you see there are 5 more.
Good luck and congrats,

Nope, that's what i couldn't figure out.....the trap went off, i heard it, and it was laying next to it, not under it, but it was shaking violently, then he passed on.... -

I don't care what it was.....it's dead and it's not crawling over my feet in the dark anymore. -
I have no sympathy for the little bassids, good to see you eliminated the enemy.

Heres a new trap I tried in our house, it worked great. Caught the mouse within a day of setting it.

I always seem to get one in the house every other winter or so. Got tired of the traps and switched to the sticky pads. They seem to get them faster than the traps. Usually set them behind a box that I put about 3" from a wall.

Peanut Butter works great in those snappy/smashy traps.

Keep some traps out Mark, as someone said where there's one ther'es often many. I had mice in my old apartment, had them twice, both times I ended up catching 5-7 mice before they were "gone".
And for whoever recommended sticky traps, I tried those once, it was the most gruesome thing I ever dealt with. The mice get stuck to it, and then try to peel themselves up, gnawing their own feet off, eventually starving to death. Just horrific. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Sounds like a plan bobman, I still have 2 traps out so I will leave them out for atleast a week or more.

Maybe I have the dumber mice, but I could line the floor with those, and not get a single one. Every winter here, you get a few that come in to get warm. If you get them early and quickly, they may not have time to breed.
I've done the glue, big-**** glue for rats, peanut butter glue, disk traps, no-kill traps, and a couple of others. I'm back to the snappy one like BL's there, but have been baiting them with a hair trigger. You breathe on it, and it's in action.
I've still got one left I think, and that smart **** is probably laughing his **** off at the three types of traps he avoids daily.
BL, that looks like a mole. They're blind.-Ignorance is strength - -
Your enthusiasm and not one, not two but THREE pictures cracked me up. Great thread

What are you trying to say...I killed a handicap rodent?
Thanks Michael_w, I am quite proud of this accomplishment. -
It's a shrew as someone stated earlier, not that it makes any difference, but I'll bet you got the wrong culprit. Shrews generally only eat roots, grubs and worms. You probably still have a mouse that's been getting in the trash.

The traps are set....if there is another it's mine.
