my friend and his $40 pair of SDA 1's says his tweeters are to bright.. and this is with vinyl.. he doesn't listen to CD's, just FM and albums.. anyway.. i told him to get the RD0-194 tweeters.. but he's so cheap, he'd rather not listen to his SDA's. and instead use his Pioneer speakers. I can not convince him to spend the $ for the RD0 tweeters. he doesn't use the SDA interconnect either.. if he did.. on his SDA1's. both tweeters would be active.. which he'd freak if he did.

He likes the SDA1's, but doesn't care for the tweeters. so does anyone know if the SL1000's suffer from the same spike as the SL2000's do?

The 1000s are the ones with the silver plate, correct?

If so, my parents have a pair of 10Bs with these tweets and I can tell you from personal experience that they spike at least as bad as the 2000s. If my first sentence is wrong disregard this post :)

Peerless tweeters are not a direct swap for the SL1000, the crossovers are different.

so the RD0's won't fit where an SL1000 does size wise?

I don't know about SDA's, but as far as Monitor 7's, the cabinet has to be modified slightly.

I have tested this dome tweeter in my 7's, in replace of the Peerless, just to see what it sound like. It wasnt bad at all, for the money, I think it would be a good try. I dont know about all the parameters, but it is 8ohms and an exact fit. The crossover fr, is almost the same as the crossover fr in the 7's, I'm not sure about the sda's. The recommended xover fr is 2.5khz, I think thats about where the sda's are

I think for $16 its a damn good tweeter.
