I just purchased an onkyo 805 yesterday.I have a pair of rti10s. I only have a 5.1 setup. The onkyo has the option to use the back surround channels(6 and 7) in a biamp configuration with the fronts. Is this anything I should consider or not?

I would say no. You aren't generating that much more effective power (Maybe 5% more to the speaker-Due to one set of amps only running the mids and tweets which use less power) but the signal load inside the amp is doubled. All in all, it's a great sounding theory, bad in practice. However, you could try it and see if you like it.
