Vanity Plates, like em or hate em....

Put me in the hate'em camp, same goes with licence plate frames, just plain stupid.

I actually have a theory regarding vanity plates.....The higher the per capita ratio of vanity plates per state, the lower the overall I.Q. of that state!
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

This thread made me remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer got a proctologist’s vanity plate by mistake. ASSMAN.

If I don't give a rat's **** about what most people say, you can imagine my interest in what their license plates might have to offer.

However, if the license plate exhibits higher brain activity than the individual, conversation with the license plate is not entirely out of the question.

Aww, come on, folks. They're not all that bad. I've seen a few really good ones. A friend at school had one that said "Oh shift!"

Though I don't get the original poster's plate...

I like it. I had a bud with a Firebird. His plate read U SLO 5.0 (he put the dot betwixt the 5 and 0).

I never paid extra for a vanity plate. I prefer it being hard to remember...

Especially asinine when people just put the type of their car in their vanity plate.

Like "MYBEEMR" or "REDPONY" or stupid **** like that. Once in a while I'll appreciate a clever one but just not worth the money. And just like bumper stickers, anything clever the first time is just stupid by the fifth or tenth time.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Eh, vanity plates can be fun. I like them on like a classic or antique car. Like I know a guy with 51 Merc for his plates and it's on a 51 Mercury. Then there are the ones with the show cars. Like I've seen ones that weren't that creative. Like 1BADBIRD on a Firebird that wasn't all that "bad" or the clapped out blue pickup truck with SUPRMAN for plates. Or even BIGBIRD on a 76 Thunderbird. Yeah, that's just not hittin' the mark with me. But like I saw one on an old Chevy panel side that was painted white with the markings for an old dairy from the area and his plates said MILKMAN. That was cool and creative. There was another guy with an old Ford truck with a refrigeration unit on the back and his plates said ICEMAN. Or the '40's pumper fire truck with CODERED. I also saw a dude with a Ford Lightning with plates that said STRUCKYBY (might have been spelled a bit different). Then again, those weren't daily drivers and the plates added to the theme of the vehicle.

BL, that's my brother's plate! And it is legal. Ask Darla to look it up and see if it belongs to Mr. Schwartz in Pennsylvania.

It is kinda cool though. My brother put the frame on his wife's car without her knowing it. On day as they are loading the trunk she says "Oh my God, how long has that thing been on my car?".. My brother says about six months. She says "No wonder why I keep getting honked at red lights, I thought the light had turned green!" "Guys pass me on the road making rude tongue gestures between their middle and index finger".

    Great story! And True!

I think the best use of vanity plates is your HAM radio license. Super nerdy, but awesome.
