Ok so I posted a thread before but I was at work and could not get the description right. Now that I am home and can actually go to all sites I see that I probably have monitor 10's.
But how do I know if they are 10A or 10B?
And is there a real difference between the two?

Jeff

I finally got the clue I was looking for. Someone on this post said that the first few numbers on the serial number usually indicate the model. And they are right. I have 10A's.
I called polk yesterday and the tech said there is no way to tell what I have without a pic and that the serial number is no help.
He should read these threads :)

    Thanks again

If my serial number is this: 10 182742 does that mean I just have regular 10s, not 10As or 10Bs?

Hey, I asked a damn question. The guestion is: if it says 10 182742 then what kind of speaker do I have. Apparently it's one of four things: Monitor 10, Monitor 10 series 2, 10A or 10B. So which is it?

Well, what will get me the answer because I want to know. Is there some place I can look it up or something? Someone said probably 10B but I didn't get the sense that that was definitive.

No, it just confirms that I'm trying to figure out the model number from the serial numbers. I assume that's possible and I figured that it would be easy to get an answer on this forum because it's the forum on the official Polk site. That's why I got annoyed when I didn't get an answer. Someone already said probably 10B, but I wanted to find out for sure.

I couldn't find any pics that look exactly like mine and that said what model it was in the picture.

I just love the attitude of these new members. I guess we are supposed to be at their beck and call for whatever they may want.

"I asked a damn question"? Wow, you really make us want to answer it for ya'.

My 10b's say 10b before the serial#. The also have beveled front edges, so the grill isn't the same dimension of the enclosure.

I'd back off the gas a bit, if you want some of these older dudes to do anything but flip you off virtually.
